Totally disappointed. We were visiting my son in Toronto. I stayed with my son. My sister and her friend stayed at Royal York mainly for the location and history. I seldom travel in North America because hotels are just too expensive. I favoured Asia much more. We had lunch at the restaurant. There were 5 of us. Services were very slow. One of us ordered steak and eggs for lunch. Steak came with no eggs. The server brought eggs later with no apology. We ordered coffee. Coffee came with no cream and sugar. Oh well.
The final night of our stay i had dinner with 2 of my old friends and we went back to lobby bar to meet my sister for a drink. We were seated and there was no server to be seen. When we raised our concern to the manager Karen, she promptly asked us to leave even though we told her we were hotel guests. She intended to embarrass me in front of my friends. It was a first time I got kicked out of bar without even drinking. So we moved across the street to a nice local bar. We were seated and served a bottle of wine at half of the price. I would like to have Fairmont to provide a response from Karen for the reason for kicking us out.
So our destination was Montreal and we chose Queen Elizabeth Fairmont. We learnt from Royal York. We avoided the food and beverage at the hotel.
I am a seasoned traveler and a Diamond member at Trip.com. This is probably the worst experience I have had in last 10 years of travelling worldwide.
I will definitely avoid Fairmont from now on.

The bar near the lobby is nice and they have a beautiful bar. The breakfast is not good. They say is included and they only let you have one option from the menu. Luxury is flexibility. Having to pay extra if I want to eat more in a five star hotel feels cheap.

Amazing
GGuest UserBooked Deluxe King Room with breakfast included. Room was spacious and breakfast was great. Yet the standard of housekeeping was far from satisfactory. First, hairs were found at the wrap for the wire of the hair dryer the moment I checked in, and small scrap of paper was also found on the inside of a towel. Without any notice/sign in the room about the hotel's green housekeeping policy (if any), towels heavily loaded on the hook and hangers in the bathroom were not collected even on day 3 of my stay (there was no bath tub in the room to place used towels). Packs of cotton pads, cotton buds and small soaps were not refilled even when totally used up. Interesting enough, when enquired with front desk if that was the hotel's policy not to so collect the towels and make the refill unless express requests were made, the answer was in the negative.
The charging of tips for breakfast is another interesting issue. My husband stayed at the hotel for 2 nights (with breakfast included) before my arrival. When he checked out, he was asked to pay for tips for 1 breakfast. After clarifying if tips should be paid for 2 breakfasts instead, front desk apologized for having wrongly charged for any tips as all charges should have already been included when making the hotel booking. Yet on our checking out after 5 nights' stay with the hotel, we were told that we had to pay for tips for 2 days' breakfast. We again enquired about the hotel policy and explained that we were willing to pay but wondered why tips weren't charged for all 5 days for our stay. No explanation was given and the staff (probably thought that we did not want to pay) just advised that the charges would be waived.
I have stayed at Park Hyatt Bangkok and the service was excellent. Was thus surprised to had those experience at Park Hyatt Toronto.
GGuest UserVery overpriced for the condition of hotel, rooms need updating particularly bathroom / shower, low level of maintenance . Very noisy hotel both room and lobby, lobby area had loud music in all areas not a quite space, we were unable to casually enter bar of cafe area need to be seated and there was always a 45 min wait over 4 days. Some conditions you can accept but not when your paying the premium price they are charging, feels like they are focusing on the heritage and image rather than customer satisfaction.

DDemusThe hotel was swanky, and we loved our stay. The view from the pool was fantastic. The restaurant on site had an incredible service, and the service was great.
Ccoco-LuThe St. Regis brand is known for luxury and butler service. The Toronto location is a bit older, so the room facilities are relatively outdated. Fortunately, the excellent service makes up for the aging infrastructure. Additionally, the top-floor restaurant is great, with both the views and the food being impressive.
FFour paddleIt felt like a hotel with a nice historical atmosphere. The room was nice and the hotel was comfortable without any complaints.
Coffee is available in the lobby in the morning, a la carte breakfast (for a fee) is available at the hotel restaurant, and there is a nice cafe nearby, making it a convenient location.
Looking at the reviews of nearby hotels, I thought they might not have toothbrushes and slippers, so I brought them, but they weren't. Also, in this room, although there is a shelf for storing clothes, it was not uncommon for there to be space for hanging clothes and hangers. We only brought casual clothes for our 2-night stay, so there was no problem, but if you need a suit, it might be better to check with the hotel.
Even though it was my first time in Canada, I didn't have enough time to find a hotel this time, so I was hesitant to compare it with other major hotels in the same price range the day before. I'm glad I ended up staying here, and I'd definitely like to use it again next time.
PPrincess CroixThis hotel was well worth the splurge!! Great location and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. They were always quick to help and the rooms were super clean. The pool and gym were also very nice.
HHeqingyanThe location of the hotel is very good, the room is very clean and has a sense of design, I stayed in Andy's room for 3 days. The service is also very good. In the middle of the night, the waiter will bring you boiling water after a while. The fly in the ointment is that the old house's water outlet and drainage are not very good, and the water from the faucet is all white. The rooftop pool has a nice view but the water is a bit cold.
GGuest UserRooms was big and spacious. Updated bathroom with standing shower. Clean and comfy. Location is great right outside (literally across) of the Niagara outlet collection. Parking on site is available for a fee of 15 CAD (2023)
