„It is rather disappointing that while that room is simple and nice, it seriously lacked the basic necessities of the room. Pls take note that there are no room slippers provided and the floor clearly is not cleaned (our socks are black as we did not bring our own slippers). The WiFi is also not stable, firstly we couldn't even find our room WiFi and the technician came to fix it. However, the connection was lost on and off hence, very frustrating. Pls also take note that there is no daily cleaning / refreshing of the rooms. We stayed for 3 nights and we had to make do with how we entered the room from 1st day to last day. :( Besides the location, we probably wont come back to stay again, unless the management of apartment decided to improve the level of service and amenities provided to guests.”

„Great hospitality and service throughout my stay in Penang Amari Spice Hotel. Upon arrival, the reception team kindly upgraded me to a Premier King room without any request, which was a wonderful surprise. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant scent—everything was excellent. I would like to express my utmost appreciation to the midnight team on 21/03/2026. During our stay, my friend suddenly fell seriously ill during midnight . We attempted to call emergency services (999), but unfortunately were unable to get through to the nearby general hospital immediately. The situation was critical, and waiting another 10–20 minutes could have put my friend’s life at risk. Thankfully, the Penang Amari hotel team acted swiftly and professionally. They followed up with us, and the female manager along with the guy management team arrived promptly to assess the situation. They provided immediate support and helped arrange transportation to the nearest hospital, ensuring we arrived within 10 minutes. Thanks to their quick response and care, my friend’s life was saved. And even after check out they still texting us to concern on the guest safety. We are deeply grateful for their kindness, efficiency, and dedication during such a critical moment. The hotel is far away from downtown where the attractions and fantastic street food are located. The room is comfortable and I got a free upgrade to a sea view room. My partner slept well but not me because the pillow of mine is lumpy, felt like it had clumps of filling. Overall I am satisfied with my stay in Hard Rock and had some good times.”

Overall, I had a pleasant stay and a good experience. The staff were all very polite, friendly, and helpful, which made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The hotel itself is a little dated, and some areas could benefit from better maintenance. The tiles underneath the sink were cracked and looked as though they might come loose, which was a bit concerning. There were also some marks and stains around the sink area. They may simply be due to age or water stains, but they gave the bathroom a less clean appearance. One thing that concerned me was the presence of Charlie ants (rove beetles). We noticed them outside the room, and there were also quite a few in the steam room. Although the hotel has placed notices to warn guests about them, they are extremely small and difficult to spot unless you look very carefully. Since contact with them can cause skin irritation, it was a little worrying. Overall, the staff provided excellent service, and we enjoyed our stay. I hope the hotel can improve the maintenance of the facilities and continue taking measures to reduce the presence of Charlie ants, as these improvements would make the experience even better.

We chose The Lone Pine Hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I was worried that arriving too late on the first day would spoil the romantic vibe, but the hotel was incredibly accommodating. They proactively arranged for our cake and gifts to be delivered the next morning, allowing us to enjoy them leisurely – this thoughtful detail was a huge plus. As for the view, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a sea-view room. The endless blue ocean outside the window offered a superb vista. Even more surprising was that I had only booked breakfast for the first day because we had an early start on the second. Yet, the hotel upgraded our second day's breakfast for free – so incredibly considerate! The food was the major highlight of this trip: I highly recommend the fried chicken at the breakfast buffet; it's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, usually gone before 11 AM. After 10 AM, there's also an outdoor Welcome Drink by the pool, and the adjacent Barbecue area offers amazing fried kway teow and roti canai. The overall dining atmosphere was very chill. The location is also very convenient, just a few minutes' walk to late-night snack stalls and the beach torch performance. Finally, I must praise the nighttime experience – many might mind the sound of the waves, but I absolutely love falling asleep to them; it's incredibly therapeutic and relaxing. It's basically a place where you can just unwind for a couple of days 🎶. One small suggestion: The hotel could perhaps optimize the color scheme of its lighting. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who loves a slow pace and a seaside getaway! 🌊🍗

Our overall experience during this stay was extremely satisfying. The hotel boasts a beautiful environment, facing the sea with stunning views, especially the infinity pool and ocean scenery which are perfect for photos. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the bed was very good, allowing us to truly relax. The hotel is ideal for families with children; our little one had a great time. The pool and beach are both very convenient, and you could easily spend the whole day there without getting bored. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices and tasted good. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, this is an excellent choice. My only small suggestion is that the pool can get quite crowded during peak season, so I hope they can add more loungers in the future. Overall, I would recommend it to friends and would stay here again.

Our last hotel in Penang was in Batu Ferringhi. The hotel isn't very large, and the room facilities are a bit dated, but the experience was excellent! First, the resort layout is well-designed; despite its size, the areas are cleverly arranged, creating beautiful views at every turn. There are several swimming pools, including two for children with slides and more. Most importantly, there are staff members consistently present at the slides and by the pools to supervise and maintain order, ensuring children can play safely and securely! Breakfast was also great; although there was a queue during peak hours, the food was delicious and offered a wide variety. The beach bar also had good food, and it was lovely to relax there with the lights on at night. The best part is that the hotel has direct access to the beach and the sea! And the path from the hotel to the sea looks absolutely beautiful when lit up at night. We booked a two-story family room with a lovely balcony. The staff service was also excellent. I'm giving it five stars.

This hotel, located on Batu Ferringhi Beach in northern Penang Island, holds the distinction of being Malaysia's first five-star resort, inaugurated by the Prime Minister himself, and has long been renowned. It's astonishing how well the facilities are maintained for a hotel over fifty years old, a testament to its high management standards. The staff are all very enthusiastic and accommodating, almost always fulfilling requests. It's important to distinguish between the two parts of the hotel: the eight-story Garden Wing to the east, which mostly features standard rooms with single balconies, and the five-story Rasa Wing to the west, primarily offering suites with double balconies. The check-in desks for both sections are about a hundred meters apart. Additionally, about 200 meters west of the Rasa Wing is another Shangri-La resort: the four-star Golden Sands. These three hotels share an exclusive stretch of beach to the north, but each has its own swimming pool. Hotel buggies shuttle guests between the properties, and most towel counters by the pools can be used by simply stating your room number. Water sports like parasailing and jet skiing on the beach are completely shared. When using Grab to book a car, pay close attention to specifying the correct lobby for pickup, otherwise, both parties might end up waiting for each other.

1. Check-in after 3 PM is standard practice, and there's usually a shift change in between. So, if you arrive early, leave your luggage, and go out, don't expect anything to be ready when you return. 2. The front desk staff lacked basic courtesy towards Chinese guests. They seemed to think nothing of delaying our room, and when we expressed dissatisfaction, they simply offered two meal vouchers as a pacifier. 3. The room wasn't very spacious; compared to similar hotels in Penang, it was the smallest (as shown in the pictures). 4. The cleanliness of the bedding upon check-in was subpar (as shown in the pictures). This trip to Penang, I traveled with my family and stayed at JEN by Shangri-La, The Blue Mansion, and Royale Chulan Penang. This hotel offered the worst experience by far.

I had an excellent stay at G Hotel Gurney in the Executive Suite. The suite was spacious, modern, and beautifully maintained, with a comfortable bed and a great view. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Penang. The hotel’s location is fantastic, right next to Gurney Plaza and within walking distance of many popular eateries. The staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to assist, making the entire stay even more enjoyable. The Executive Lounge was a great addition, offering a quiet and comfortable space to unwind with complimentary refreshments. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide selection of local and international dishes. Overall, everything from the room quality to the service exceeded my expectations. I would definitely choose G Hotel Gurney again on my next visit to Penang and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay.

I had the lowest expectations for this hotel since it’s school holiday season, but they completely exceeded them. We got early check-in, a free room upgrade, and even an anniversary room decoration, live bands every night. I love it here! Also they have plenty activities for your little ones too!

Traveling with kids, the two-bedroom apartment was incredibly convenient. The room was clean and tidy. There's a swimming pool and gym on the top floor, and a washing machine and dryer on the first floor. The hotel's location is also excellent. There's a convenience store downstairs, a 7-Eleven just across the street, and plenty of restaurants nearby – we tried two, and both were delicious. It's about a 30-minute walk to Armenian Street, and you'll see durian sellers everywhere along the way. The only disappointment was that our room wasn't cleaned once during our four-day stay. We were told that for consecutive stays, rooms would be cleaned every three days, but this didn't happen.

Despite being in a foreign land, your timely and thoughtful assistance was incredibly valuable, and I'm truly grateful. Secondly, and I say this objectively and without exaggeration, this is hands down one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, if not *the* best. Words can barely describe it – from the ambiance to the hotel itself, and the impeccable service, everything was flawless. You could call it a first-class sea-view park, a luxurious villa, or even a museum... Finally, I want to clarify that my glowing review isn't because of the help I received; it's genuinely because they are, without a doubt, one of the world's most outstanding hotels!
