Early Check In before 12pm, few times stay here but this time doesnt need to put deposit ($200) like before. Staff is a boy (frgt to ask the name) is very friendly. Check in process is easy & fast.
This time no outside parking coz many events in the hotel, so I park my car in the basement which is free parking till I checked out. Just gv the receiption our car plate no.
Satisfied with dis room (529) clean & big room worth the money with free breakfast for 2pax.
Stayed here recently and found the overall value to be good, especially if you don't mind being a bit further from the city's main attractions. The room was clean and comfortable, and the price was reasonable compared to similar options in the area.
However, getting to interesting places required taking a taxi or bus, so keep in mind that it’s not the most central hotel for sightseeing. Check-in was a little confusing reception gave me the wrong directions for both location and floor, so I had to ask twice to find my room. Other than that, everything else met my expectations.
If the location isn’t a major issue for you, this hotel is a solid choice for budget travelers. Would recommend for guests looking for clean rooms and value, but advise double-checking details at reception.
The Centrepoint is a historical hotel. Its very old and still operating. I had a huge room, everything was ok. Bed super comfy, bedding ok. Breakfast is incredible ! So many options!!! Staff are super Friendly and always helped me booking my taxi with Dart 🤗🙏🏽 the only thing didn't like is the old style. I prefer modern hotels. All the room and hotel is very old, and the AC is so cold. Even I put it in ”fan modus only” at 30°c and it was cold.... Otherwise nice stay.
Location wise is great, reception is attentive, cleanliness are great, but its an old hotel, but everything is functional, ameniteis only a soap and shampoo, nothing else, bring your own toileteries, overall affordable and comfort for solo travller, iron and ironing board provideed, mineral water also restock everyday
Excellent stay! The location is perfect—only a 5-minute drive from the airport—and the hotel provides complimentary airport transfers at any time of day, no matter when your flight arrives or departs, which is incredibly convenient. The staff were also outstanding: friendly, helpful, and professional throughout my stay.
Breakfast options are not extensive, but considering the very reasonable price, the quality and value are more than satisfactory. If there were a coin laundry facility available, the hotel would be even better. Overall, a highly recommended place to stay, especially for travelers needing quick airport access.
I stayed at Radisson Hotel Brunei for a business trip and had a very pleasant experience. The location is very convenient, especially for business purposes, with easy access to key areas in the city. The staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming, and I was particularly impressed that they remembered me, which made the stay feel personal and comfortable. Overall, it was a smooth and enjoyable stay, and I would consider returning for future business trips.
Wygodne i ogólnie dobre doświadczenie, zdecydowanie polecam. Recepcjonista dobrze przekazuje pracę, możesz zarezerwować swoje wycieczki, a następna zmiana dobrze je dostarczy.
Old design hotel. But complete with playground for kid but need to pay for 3 dollar. Parking available and have basement parking. 2 swimming pool available. Breakfast not many choices but good enough. Amenities is limited, the hotel only provide 1 toothbrush. Overall very satisfied as the price is reasonable.
📍Day 3 | 1st June 2025, Sunday
The Empire Brunei 🇧🇳
After all the walking yesterday, today was all about rilexing in style—and what better place than the legendary Empire Brunei?
✅ And yes—it absolutely lived up to the hype. 😍
This place is more than just a hotel. It's basically its own little kingdom. Here’s what they offer:
🏀 Full country club (basketball, squash, badminton, table tennis, pools 🎱)
🏊♂️ Indoor swimming pools & jacuzzis
🏖️ Private beaches & lagoons
🚴♀️ Kayaks & bicycles
🎥 On-site cinema
👶 Kids Club
🍽️ 4 Restaurants
⛳ Golf course
🚙 Buggy rides everywhere (the place is huge!)
We booked a Dart ride from Jubilee Hotel and arrived around 11AM. Although check-in was supposed to be at 2PM, we were warmly greeted by Hafiz at the front desk. He invited us to explore the facilities while we waited. Then… surprise! Our room was ready by 12PM and we even got a free upgrade to the Ocean King Sea View Room.
Influencer perks? Maybe 😎 (Just kidding 😂).
Thank you, Empire Brunei!
A buggy took us straight to our room—and wow, it was huge, luxurious, and the sea view was something else. 🌊
Lunch was at Pantai Restaurant. My son loves the mini burgers 🍔 while we enjoyed the ocean breeze and relaxed atmosphere. Afterwards, we wandered the lobby and took in the stunning architecture—those iconic golden pillars are a masterpiece. 🏛️
After prayers, we changed into sport/swimwear and headed to the Country Club. I jumped into a pickup basketball game with two lads from the UK while wifey and my son relaxed in the indoor pool and jacuzzi nearby. 🏀🛁
Later, we visited the Kids Club— My son splashed happily while we took a breather. Just before sunset, we found a quiet spot outside. Brunei’s sunset? Absolutely underrated. 🌅
To wrap up the day, we stayed in for dinner (room service KA dendeng 😅). FYI, you need to put down a deposit to order room service. We were way too tired to head out again anyway.
Rating?
Empire Brunei = ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (7 stars, obviously 😂)
Truly a 10/10 experience—elegant, peaceful, and unforgettable.
Feeling recharged and grateful.

Great
BBingBaiThis five-star hotel feels more like an upscale local resort. Upon check-in, they told us they'd double-upgraded us to the main building, which was great as the pool was just downstairs.
The lobby layout isn't grand, and the overall feel is a bit dated, but I was pleasantly surprised by how new the room facilities were and how impeccably clean everything was. The minibar had 8 different drinks, two of each, all complimentary.
There are three outdoor pools and one indoor pool. None of the pools are particularly large, and the staff service was quite poor; they wouldn't help lay out towels, nor would they let us take extra towels ourselves. The pool bar service was decent, but the coffee was terrible.
Breakfast was okay. We went to the Western restaurant on the 6th floor for dinner, and the service there was excellent, with reasonable prices.
Overall, I found the stay experience to be very good, but the service in the public areas was just average, and the buggy staff's attitude wasn't great either. There's no valet parking at the entrance. Compared to the 'seven-star' hotel everyone talks about, I'd say this is more like a high-end resort, suitable for locals looking for a staycation. Tourists don't need to make a special trip here.
GGuest UserLobby - Check in was pleasant, lift lobby is quick and air conditioned.
The room level had AC too.
Room - clean, very cold (I like) and the bed and pillows were comfy.
The floor had some torn floor furnishings which ruins the aesthetic but otherwise, its fine.
Food - Breakfast was nice, fried rice and noodles with chicken which the menu changed daily.
There's also corn soup and porridge, some fruits and sliced cakes for desserts.
GGuest UserGood location, in the city center, three minutes walk to Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque, three minutes walk to Sultan Memorial Hall, two minutes walk to Water Village Pier, less than one minute walk to Brunei Royal Plaza, two minutes walk to the shopping center, there is a large supermarket in the basement of the shopping center, all kinds of goods are very complete. There are many restaurants in the shopping center, which is convenient for eating. I checked out of the original hotel before 12 noon because of the flight at 2 am the next day, and temporarily booked a small single room to rest and take a shower before going to the airport. The price is relatively cheap, the main disadvantage is that there is only one bathroom for all the rooms in the youth hostel, and the toilet and shower are all in it. If there are many guests, there will definitely be problems and it will take a long time to wait.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located quite far from the city center, but it does provide a free shuttle service to and from the airport. It is also not very close to the sea; however, this is not a major issue since swimming is prohibited at the nearby beaches anyway. Additionally, there are no cafes or shops within walking distance of the hotel, which makes the location even less convenient. The prices at the hotel’s cafe are overpriced.
The hotel’s design feels somewhat outdated, but nothing critical. What was truly disappointing, however, was the service. The hotel presents itself as a 4-star property, yet it is surprisingly strict about a very basic necessity — drinking water. Guests are provided with only one bottle of water per person per day.
There is coffee and tea available in the room, but to boil the kettle you need additional drinking water, which the staff refused to provide. They insisted that water had already been supplied during housekeeping and that no more was allowed. We had to keep asking for it as if they were personally paying for it themselves. That was extremely unpleasant.
The tap water is yellow, and there were also issues with the hot water.
Only one person works at the reception desk, which is clearly insufficient for a hotel with this many rooms, resulting in long waiting times. The reception staff are not knowledgeable about nearby attractions and do not assist with arranging tours, suggesting that guests find everything out on their own.
Unfortunately, the overall service was extremely disappointing.
AAnonymous UserCapital Residence Suites, Brunei
I had a generally pleasant stay here. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the place felt quiet and calm, which was nice after a long day out. The bed was comfortable and the room was well maintained.
Breakfast was provided and was simple but sufficient to start the day. Nothing fancy, but acceptable. A good highlight is the free city tour organized by the hotel. During the tour, I managed to visit Energy Hub, Masjid Omar Ali Saifuddien, Istana Nurul Iman, Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Gadong Mall, and Masjid Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, which was very convenient for first-time visitors. Also the big plus is free airport pick-up and drop-off (reservation required)
Staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in was smooth. Overall, it offers decent value for money and is suitable for a short stay, especially if you want an easy way to explore Bandar Seri Begawan.
GGuest UserHonestly, in my opinion, this is one of the best places to stay in Brunei. It’s away from the general hustle and noise. Yes, you’ll need to order a taxi to get to the city center — Brunei doesn’t seem to have many proper pedestrian paths — but taxis arrive quickly and it’s not an issue.
The location right by the water is beautiful. The hosts are wonderful. The common area is very cozy, with plenty of games and books, and the breakfasts are delicious. The best part — the lady of the house prepares a different breakfast every single morning.
Everyone is attentive and thoughtful. Before I arrived, they even asked whether I had any allergies, dietary restrictions, religious considerations, or food preferences. You rarely find such a personal approach.
The room was clean and, most importantly, very quiet. And forgive me for mentioning this — but there are no mosques nearby, so you won’t be woken up by early morning prayers at 5 a.m. It’s truly peaceful. My sleep tracker showed 97%, which says a lot.
I highly recommend this place for your stay.
MMONKEY. D. JINJINThe staff were all really enthusiastic. The hotel itself was actually pretty good. I stayed on the second floor, and I can understand why some people mentioned it being a bit damp – it definitely was, but it was manageable if you kept the exhaust fan on. The location was super convenient for getting to all the popular spots.
AAnonymous UserThe location is fantastic. Even during Ramadan, they prepared breakfast for us. And not just in the room, but we could eat as much as we wanted at the 7th-floor buffet. Thank you! The room is spacious. There are so many light switches that it's hard to figure out which one controls what. There was a kitchen, but it wasn't usable – no pots, pans, plates, or spoons. There's an electric kettle, two complimentary bottles of water, and a fridge. The staff are very kind. I appreciate having a bathtub, and the hot water works. My biggest complaint is that even with the AC turned off, it was still cold. Maintenance came to the room multiple times, but it remained chilly. The pool is a good size, and there's a gym too. A supermarket is conveniently connected next door, along with cafes. Across the road is the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, and it seems to be owned by the same group. Postcards can be found at the Ritz-Carlton gift shop. The hotel front desk offered a service where, for $1 per card, they would go to the post office, buy stamps, and mail them for you – very helpful! A ride to the airport was about $10 via a ride-hailing app. The place has a retro vibe. There were koi fish in the lobby. The biggest issue is the no-smoking policy; you can't smoke outside, in your room, or anywhere on the premises. Apparently, this isn't due to Ramadan but is a Brunei rule.
GGuest UserHighly recommended! Everything was great. The hotel offers a convenient airport shuttle, and the breakfast spread is rich and varied. The front desk even helped us with taxis. The room was clean and tidy, and the location was excellent. The only minor downside was that the tap water was a bit yellowish, though the shower water was fine. For drinking water, we bought a large bottle of mineral water for 50 cents from the supermarket next door. The bus terminal is just a few minutes' walk away, making it easy to explore attractions on foot and get to the pier. Taking a taxi to Gadong Night Market wasn't expensive. By the way, Brunei is definitely worth a visit!
GGuest UserSpent 3 nights here at higher hotel. What can we say, firstly the hotel was clean, linens towels were clean. The room size was surprisingly big too. We had the twin bed but that’s ok for us. Location wise, just 7km away from the airport. Dart costs BND10 each way. In terms of shops and eateries, there’s myriads of shops just walking distance. They have laundry just next door to the hotel. The food in the hotel breakfast served home meals, close to local dishes. We get used to it since it’s almost like our own. Lastly, but the most significant one would be the friendliness of all their staffs, whom 90% was Filipino. They are very polite and just friendly to every guests. If we ever come to Bandar Seri Begawan again, we will look no other than Higher Hotel.
