„Of all the camps in the area to choose from I highly recommend staying at this particular one. The manager Wang Shiquan and his team are incredibly good hosts and made sure I had everything I needed. As a foreigner I felt incredibly welcomed and included.
The tents are of really good quality and very roomy. The beds are really comfy too. The activities are also plentiful with quad biking, camel riding and sandboarding. Shapotou is very close by too with much to do.
Ningxia is definitely an underrated province and I highly recommend anyone to come and see it and experience the kind hospitality of it's people from this camp.

„If you are coming to this resort for the experience of sleeping in the desert, it delivers reasonably well. The tent I booked was simple but adequate, with a heating blanket provided for colder nights. Go with the mindset of seeking an experience rather than hotel-level comfort.
The activities are sold as packages, the most expensive being 400 RMB for 90–120 minutes. They are fun but short and tourist-oriented, still worthwhile if you’ve made the trip. You can also take a quiet stroll into the desert.
On the downside, although the resort is marketed for stargazing, there is too much light pollution to see the stars. The Wi-Fi is unreliable, which matters since reception in the area is poor. Snacks are limited, and while a set menu is proposed, individual dishes can be requested, but no prices are displayed for these, which feels lacking in transparency. Cleanliness of the shared bathrooms was also disappointing, as they were not serviced often enough.
Overall, while not perfect, the stay is still a unique experience. I recommend it for just one night, enough to enjoy the activities and the desert atmosphere!”

Good value for money, friendly, helpful night staff, no language problem, easy and trouble free foreign friendly. The feedback is based on my room and my overall experience. The room was very clean, newish super clear, bright lights bathroom, with very nice shower. The beds are a bit hard but nothing major, very quite, small but manageable parking space, despite my car being a big. It was one night experience, short but pleasant with lots of food option but the front doors of the hotel. Which very convenient. Definitely recommend unfortunately, I forgot to take some pictures. ThumbsUp 👍

Guest UserI stayed in an air-conditioned cabin without a private bathroom this time. It was cleaner than I expected. I'd recommend bringing a pair of flip-flops for the shared showers. Other amenities like toothbrushes and towels were disposable, which was great. Getting a taxi was difficult, but the host was incredibly thoughtful and came to pick us up. There was a bonfire party in the evening, and they set off fireworks like there was no tomorrow! Watching the stars and fireworks in the desert was absolutely beautiful!

Located within the Xinheng Winery, the guesthouse is named after the owners, a name that evokes a sense of marital bliss.
【Guesthouse】The guesthouse facilities are excellent. The air conditioning is very comfortable, and the bathroom features a separate shower and toilet. Aesthetic design and thoughtful details are evident throughout. I especially loved the view from the large windows of the flowerbeds and succulents; the vegetation was lush and vibrant. There were also footstools and air purifiers. The manager mentioned that the guesthouse was established in May 2023. Located away from the city center, it's a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate.
【Wine Cellar Tour & Wine Tasting & DIY Wine Making Activities】These three activities are complimentary for guests. In addition to a complimentary bottle of welcome wine, guests can take home their homemade wine and even design their own cute labels. The wine selection is extensive, including both dry red and dry white wines, and one that particularly impressed me was the Horse Rosé, a sweet, dry rosé.
[Harvesting Activities] Guests can pick their own fruit for free. This season offers a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, including corn, green beans, cherry tomatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, green peppers, and cucumbers. The selection is excellent, making it especially suitable for family trips.

From the moment I walked in, the warm hospitality blew me away—the front desk staff remembered my name and went out of their way to make sure every need was met. The room was spacious, immaculately clean, and boasted stunning city views through floor-to-ceiling windows. The bed was cloud-soft, the rainfall shower was heavenly, and the blackout curtains ensured blissful sleep. The location was super convenient, with metro access and great eateries right outside. Excellent value for money—this place truly felt like a luxurious home away from home. Can't recommend it highly enough!

This is a good modern hotel that provides comfortable accommodations. The breakfast bar is great, and the hotel location provides easy access (by Didi or taxi) to the train and bus stations, as well as Guyuan's outstanding museum.
Only problems were having to overcome receiving two room key cards (one of which stopped working after a day), problem with the standard wifi authorization (room number and name). The night latch was broken/ non-functional. That wasn't a big problem, but reveals poor attention to facility maintenance/repair.
An oddity was that each elevator ride was punctuated by a loud noise that sounded like a dog's bark. I'm not sure what that noise reveals about the elevator mechanism.
All options taken into account, I'd definitely consider staying in this hotel on any future visit to Guyuan.
