simple room with one queen bed. just nice for 1-2 pax and maybe 1-2 nights. good location and have plenty of parking spaces. i love that they have a good functioning water heater and kettle in the room. would stay again

Stayed for one night at Wendu Inn Hotel, Kota Belud and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. Although this is a budget-friendly hotel, the room comes with a large 65-inch Smart TV, which is something I have not even found in some 4- or 5-star hotels in Kota Kinabalu. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained. The toilet was also clean and in good condition. Another plus point is the convenience of the surrounding facilities. Within the same building area, there is a mart selling essential items at reasonable prices, a stationery shop, a mini café, and a self-service laundry. Public toilets are also available, making the area feel like a small and convenient rest stop for travellers. One thing to note is that the hotel only has one floor and does not have a lift. However, this was not an issue for me, but it may be something to consider for guests who specifically require elevator access. Overall, excellent value for money, clean facilities, and very convenient amenities. I would definitely consider staying here again when visiting Kota Belud. Rating: 5/5

My husband and I stayed here in a standard double room during our trip to Kundasang. The room was spacious enough for the two of us, with plenty of space to open our luggages comfortably. It was also well equipped with sufficient hangers, two mugs, an iron and ironing board, and a hair dryer, which made our stay more convenient. The highlight of this hotel was definitely the stunning view of Mount Kinabalu. Waking up to such a beautiful landscape was unforgettable, and the breakfast area also offered the same amazing view, making the morning meal even more enjoyable. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Breakfast was good, with a decent variety including toast, nasi goreng, sausages, baked beans, sunny-side-up eggs, cereal, Sabah tea, coffee, and cordial. Unfortunately, housekeeping could be improved. There were quite a few spider webs under the hanger area where guests would naturally place their shoes, which gave the impression that the room hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. We also spotted a baby cockroach crawling out from the bed, which was disappointing and affected our overall comfort. Overall, the beautiful mountain views, friendly staff, and satisfying breakfast made for a pleasant stay, but the cleanliness issues need attention. With better housekeeping, this hotel would provide a much better experience.

Came here because it's walking distance to Gleneagles. Location is extremely strategic. However, service is not upto par and the price paid. RM183 for 1 night. The WiFi is barely functioning, can't even scroll Netflix. The water was dirty after on the tap. Much improvement is needed

This hotel is suitable for an overnight stay if you're catching an early flight after a Kinabatangan River cruise. The room was a bit dark, but everything else was fine. It has a cabin-style vibe with a small garden and a tiny pool. As for breakfast, it's just like a standard budget hotel breakfast, so don't expect too much. The staff were very enthusiastic. The nearby Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) is very close and worth a visit, and you can also book a night tour there. As for the Sun Bear Conservation Centre and the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, honestly, only go if you're really bored and have money to spare! Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform) really misleads people; anyone who goes will regret it. Once you've been, you'll truly understand the quality of the zoos back home. The Sun Bear Centre just cages a few bears. The orangutan centre is no different: everyone sits in a glass enclosure watching a group of monkeys (not orangutans!) eat bananas and vegetables on an outdoor platform – basically watching them ”mukbang.” Then you watch a few orangutans ”mukbang” on another open-air platform. We couldn't bear to watch it. After seeing how wild animals live on the Kinabatangan River, these scenes were just unbearable.

Prior to making the reservation, I had reviewed numerous negative online comments, primarily concerning issues with the air-conditioning and bathroom facilities. As a result, I contacted the hotel directly to seek clarification. The front desk staff assured me that I would be allocated a room without such problems and stated that it was designated for foreign guests and had not received any complaints. Relying on this assurance, I proceeded to book a twin-bed room. Upon check-in, we were required to carry our luggage to the third floor due to the absence of an elevator, and no assistance was offered by the staff. Although the room layout was acceptable, it was poorly maintained, with visible damage to the headboard. On the third evening, after returning to the hotel during heavy rain, we discovered that the shower was not functioning properly, with no water supply initially and only minimal cold water later. Despite being informed that a technician would attend to the matter at 11:00 p.m., no assistance was provided even after 11:25 p.m. Subsequently, the air-conditioning unit began leaking water. When I requested a room change, the staff initially declined, citing a lack of availability. Only after I insisted on speaking to the manager or owner was a replacement room, free from these issues, finally provided. I am extremely disappointed with this hotel, as it is evident that management has failed to take previous guest feedback seriously or implement necessary improvements despite repeated online complaints.

The room was comfortable, clean, and suitable for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature. I also really enjoyed the environment of the resort. The peaceful jungle atmosphere and beautiful surroundings made the stay even more memorable. The food at the restaurant was also good, with satisfying meals and a nice dining experience. Overall, I had an enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend this resort to anyone visiting Sepilok.

The location is quite convenient, and there is ample free parking available. The outdoor environment is pleasant, well-maintained, and clean, making it a nice place to relax. There is also a BBQ pit provided, although guests need to bring their own utensils and ingredients. One downside is that there is no refrigerator in the room. The bed makes some slight noise, but it is still acceptable for a short stay. The room also comes with a small balcony, which is great for enjoying the night view. Check-in and check-out are quick and hassle-free. An ironing board is available at the reception area, and a hairdryer can be borrowed upon request. Overall, considering the price, it offers very good value for money.

Leaking toilet water spray, so toilet floor always wet. No comb and tooth brush tooth paste available. No shower soap. Hot water pump is new. The room floor is clean, spacious 2 beds, 2 tables, clean. Just that it is located at 1st floor, no lifts, difficult for elderly. Karaoke at first night a bit noisy. Otherwise strategic locations to looks for food.

Very nice staff. Good location. Clean, Qiet. Peacfull. Ment to stay 2 day, but keep extending my stay. After all I stayed there week. Hostel offering transwers to the Tawau airport for 30 myr.
