Polecilibyśmy każdemu podróżującemu samemu lub z rodziną pobyt tutaj. Przyjechalibyśmy ponownie.”

„I highly recommend this accommodation! I was really impressed — even though there was a bit of a language barrier, it wasn’t a problem at all because the hosts did their best to communicate and took such great care of us. The afternoon tea and breakfast was delicious, the place was very clean, and the location was perfect — close to the old town and within walking distance. „My first impression: the hotel entrance is at the back of an alleyway, so I doubted it was the right place. However, upon entry to the main compound, it has well-maintained garden of flowers and a fountain. I had a night stay at this hotel. The room is comfy and spacious, albeit the entire place is not that massive — you can only imagine there were at most 6-10 family rooms in a double storey. It has sufficient amenities provided, fairly clean room and bathroom. The bathroom’s divider with the bed area is made of frosted glass, so it might concern some privacy if you’re staying with others within the same room. The room’s floor is made up of woods, thus it might get a bit noisy with its creaking sound. However, they’re aware of the circumstances, earplugs are provided. This hotel’s location is isolated from the ever-busy Dali town, retaining its serendipity. Yet, to go to the famous philosopher stone’s streets is only around 500m. The exceptional hospitality of its people is beyond me! The female cleaner, who knows a chunk of English words, was tenderly caring by providing me bottled waters and fruits each time I’m out of the room. She lifted my backpacks to luggage storage downstairs, and even extra bottled water. The receptionist guy, unassumingly on his first day of work during my time of checking in, is also accommodating, helping me to carry my things upstairs and sort out my room carefully. On my last day, I was rushed to go the train station and he helped to communicate with the DiDi driver about my circumstance since I couldn’t speak fluent Chinese. I’ll come back here again if I’m in China another time!”

Room cleanliness is excellent and they are very kind to offer 2 way transfer to the high speed rail even though the booking indicates only one way. The breakfast and afternoon tea are not only delicious, they ensure it looks as good as it tastes. Even though the weather wasn’t perfect in the last few days, we truly enjoyed our stay at the accommodation.”

„The B&B environment is superb. The terrace offers stunning mountain views and beautiful flowers, and the lounge chairs are very comfortable. The room curtains are lovely, and the attention to detail is impressive. The service is excellent, making for a comfortable and relaxing stay. I'll definitely be back next time! It's fantastic; I stayed four nights, which goes to show how much I loved it.”

„I had a soothing and comfortable short stay at 山隅一舍. The staff was very personable, accommodating, and kind, proactively offering tea/coffee and prepared fruit. The room was clean and had a great view of the courtyard. At check-in, she even offered to upgrade the two-bed room I had booked to a room with a single larger bed but I was happy to stay in the original room as it was already prepared. I stillfound it to be a very thoughtful offer. The beds were also equipped with heating mats, which offered great sleep in the winter weather. The neighbors have some roosters that rise early, but I found it quite charming and fitting for the “out of the big city” ambiance. I could honestly just sit in the courtyard all day watching the cat and the fish. It was truly a tranquil oasis in a town that sees many domestic and international tourists. The breakfast also tasted clean, fresh, and was promptly prepared by the host when I woke up. She was also happy to offer recommendations to both myself and other guests (I even overheard her going the extra mile, offering to pickup pastries for the other guests to try at their request). The B&B is situated very close to the ancient town without being overwhelming, which although quite commercialized, is still a fun stroll since it’s nearby. The location is also a short DiDi ride away from many sights along Erhai Lake. Dali is full of independently-run accommodations and shops like this, but this one stood out for its great hospitality and soothing environment. The cost performance was also great. A hidden gem for sure!”
