„Wow! Words cannot really describe how wonderful this place is. We took the bus from Shangrila and the hotel picked us up at a designated spot for a quick 5 minute drive through some of the most spactacular mountain sunset views. Check in was quick, easy and within minutes we were shown to our room. The room was huge with a floor to ceiling window facing Meili Mountain, a bathtub and projector with huge screen. The sofa was so big I began to think it was a bed. The shower and toilet were spotlessly clean with beautiful large warm towels as well as some quality toiletries and bathrobes. The bedroom was well appointed with very large bed, writing desk and a good oxygen supply. The whole place had underfloor heating which was super comfortable. This little hotel has a rooftop bar/cafe with the most spectacular views. Drinks range from tea and coffee to some cocktails all of which are served with snacks by a very pleasant young man. He was super helpful each time we visited the bar and even made sure the stove was well stocked with logs on the night we wanted to stay late to see the stars. We had local breakfast at the hotel each morning which was of excellent quality and very filling. We also had our evening meals at the hotel and the quality was excellent with great flavour and variety. The staff are all super helpful and were able to recommend some local spots to visit as well as arrange a car to Feilai Temple and a car to take us back to Shangrila for a great price. The whole experience at Deqen Meili GY Banshan Homestay made me wish I had booked more nights. It was the highlight of my trip to Yunnan and I will definitely stay here again next time. I can highly recommend and I miss it so much!”

„This stay offers great value for money. The hotel has an excellent view of Meili Snow Mountain from its observatory deck on the 5th floor, although the view from the room is partially obstructed by a building on the right-hand side. The reception hall is impressive, and we received a warm welcome with afternoon tea, nighttime desserts, and group activities organized by the hotel, including fireworks. We were very fortunate to catch the Geminid meteor shower during our stay and were able to watch it comfortably from our room—and, of course, to admire Meili Snow Mountain at sunrise.”

For such an expensive room, shouldn’t they be using new tableware?”

There is buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner are also supplied during 12:00-21:30. Guests can enjoy coffee, wine, and deserts etc. in coffee house during 10:00-22:00. Outside the coffee house, there is a big platform on which guests can enjoy the first glory sunshine on the golden mountain Meili.
„You get a special access of the roof top of the hotel to watch the golden sunrise of Meili mountain! Room is perfectly clean, breakfast is nice, and the vibe is amazing. The room has such a spectacular view of the mountain! If you are a photographer though, I recommend a room with the balcony as taking photo through the glass window gives a bit of reflection. Even though the hotel is by the main street, the hotel has taken precautions (such as double glazed windows) to ensure a quiet and comfortable stay. The bed was really comfortable too! My only criticism is the temperature of the room is a bit warm (I stayed in October), and I don't think there was AC to help cool it down. It did cool down naturally later in the night though.”

„This was such a lovely hotel! The wooden carving was so beautiful and the rooms were lovely and cosy. We initially booked one of the rooms in the main lobby area and they were fantastic. The shower was hot and dependable and there was a nice view out the window. The price point is also great, as it definitely feels like one of Yubengs higher and hotels in a great location, but without a huge price tag. There are many cool restaurants surrounding the hotel, and in my opinion, lower Yubeng is the better village to stay at, especially if you are trekking in from ninong. For our final night we upgraded to the mountain view suite. Yes, you can see the mountain better but the room is actually worse than the downstairs rooms, as well as being more expensive. I think the downstairs rooms are far superior. The boss was also nice and helpful, as well as going out of her way to lend us hiking gear. Great hotel.”

„To około półtorej godziny jazdy od hrabstwa Deqin i około godziny od jeziora Napa. Wybraliśmy ten przystanek, ponieważ nie chcieliśmy się spieszyć. Byliśmy bardzo zadowoleni z pobytu. „Had an amazing stay at this mountain homestay. Personally, I think homestay is not the right name for it. It’s more of a luxury hotel experience on top of a mountain. Very lovely and friendly owner who got out of his way to find me some throat lozenges because I was having sore throat due to the dry air. Indeed, the 14km hike from Ninong to Yubeng is very tiring, but it is made up for as soon as we reached the hotel. It’s a perfect hotel for couples (or travelers) who wishes for adventures but also wants to have the luxury comfort of a good room, bed and food at the end of a long hike. Now we are spoilt as we will be using this experience as a benchmark for our next hiking + luxury stay adventures!”

From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was no ordinary stay—it was an experience touched with thoughtfulness, serenity, and care. We were graciously upgraded to a room that offered an uninterrupted view of the majestic Meili Snow Mountain, allowing us to take in its quiet grandeur from the comfort of our own space. It was a gesture that did more than offer convenience—it created a sense of peace that stayed with us throughout our time there. The service staff were nothing short of extraordinary. With every interaction, they brought warmth, grace, and a genuine desire to make us feel at home. Their quiet attentiveness and heartfelt hospitality added so much depth to the stay, turning each moment into something memorable. This is a place that leaves a mark on your heart. I will miss it dearly and carry the memories with me until I return again. I look forward not only to my next visit, but also with great anticipation to discovering their new estate in 雨棚, which I’m sure will be equally enchanting.

Lovely hotel with great view, although the weather was not good during the two days we stayed, we still had a great time despite not seeing the full meri mountains. They had promotional activities during the 5/1 holiday where we hand painted tongka, and made ******* weaving stone accessories. The staff was kind and polite. The design of the architecture is stunning, I would recommend all couples to stay at this hotel. The only downside is that nighttime dinner options are very limited, recommend guests to walk out to nearby premises to have dinner instead. The breakfast at this hotel was nice.

We highly recommend staying in Yolo Guesthouse if you are staying overnight at Upper Yubeng Village. The owner and staff of the guesthouse was very friendly, helpful and informative throughout our stay. We connected through WeChat prior to arrival and liaised with the guesthouse for transport from Lower Yubeng to upper Yubeng. The transport was included in the reservation. On arrival in the afternoon, the staff introduced and escorted us to a nearby restaurant for lunch even though it was drizzling. The guesthouse is strategically located to have views of the valley downstream and upstream. The building structure is sturdy and well designed compared to many other accommodations in the villages. The interior of the room and the rooftop coffee bar is beautifully designed and clean. They also have Dyson hairdryer and Smeg electric kettle. Coffee at the rooftop bar was decent but it was accompanied by amazing views of the valley. We were the only ones at the rooftop bar after check in and we also had their in-house hotpot at night which we enjoyed. Prior to departing for our day hike (Glacier lake from Upper Yubeng Village) the next day, the guesthouse even provided hiking poles, crampons, bottled water, Red Bull canned drinks and a homely ham and egg sandwich. We were also allowed to leave our bags stored with them as we had to check out in the late afternoon after returning from the hike. After checkout, the guesthouse also helped to call a vehicle to transport us down to lower Yubeng village. We wished we had stayed here longer throughout our trip to Yubeng. We felt very welcomed and had a memorable stay. Thank you so much!

If you are looking for one of the most affordable ways to wake up to the breathtaking sight of the Meili Snow Mountain, look no further than FANSU at WUNONGDING. Our stay here was nothing short of incredible. The primary reason for our visit was the sacred Meili Snow mountain, and the view absolutely delivered. Waking up to that majestic panorama right outside our window was a highlight of our entire trip. For the value, it's an unbeatable location. The hospitality here is what truly sets FANSU apart. The staff are super helpful and friendly, going out of their way to make us feel not just like guests, but like family. They created a homey and comfortable atmosphere that made it hard to leave. A special memory was made on our last evening when the staff taught us how to sing the beautiful ******* song ”FLY” by ANU. It was a spontaneous, joyful moment that we will cherish forever. A super big thank you to them for that! Regarding the food: we found the meals to be absolutely yummy and comforting. While we've seen some comments about the dinner being expensive, we found it perfectly reasonable for our usual dining expenditure, and more importantly, the quality and taste justified it. The breakfast was also lovely and set us up perfectly well for the day. We left with full hearts, amazing photos, and great memories. If you want an authentic, warm, and unforgettable experience facing the Meili Snow Mountain, we cannot recommend FANSU highly enough. Just to make it clear that the location of this hotel is not at the Meili Viewing Platform. You need to walk around 10 minutes to reach the platform to watch Meili at sunrise. The mountain that is in the background of the hotel is Baima mountain. Having said that, we loved our stay at this hotel. The cabin was nicely decorated and equipped with all amenities. We loved the bathroom! The heater was working well in the cold weather. The uncle was lovely. It was a bit hard for us to conmunicate what we wanted as we don't speak Chinese but through Wechat translation he was able to arrange a car (shared trip) to Mingyong Glacier and a private transfer back to Shangri La for us. The auntie at the breakfast was also lovely and welcoming, trying to chat with us all the time. One thing to note is that aroud the area there are a lot of construction sites (there is one opposite the hotel), so it can be dusty and noisy at times. Please check with the hotel about the construction if it is still ongoing during the time you want to visit. All in all, I highly recommend this place if you want a lovely cabin experience (with sky window!) away from the busy area. However, you won't see Meili from the hotel's windows.

Plusy: Jeden z najpiękniejszych widoków z hotelu, jakie kiedykolwiek widziałem. Piesek Doodoo jest przesłodki i czułem się jak w domu, super cicho i spokojnie! Wygodne łóżka z kocem elektrycznym i czysty pokój. Minusy: Wspólne toalety i prysznic z umywalką znajdują się na zewnątrz, co nie jest idealne w zimny listopad. Pierwszego dnia kobieta pracująca była bardzo pomocna i uprzejma, pomogła mi wyprać ubrania, przygotowała jedzenie i odpowiedziała na moje pytania. Drugiego dnia spotkałem inną kobietę, która nie korzystała z aplikacji do tłumaczenia, co utrudniało sprawę. Nie zrobiła mi gorącego napoju w kawiarni i nie wyjaśniła dlaczego, a także nie była zbyt pomocna w kwestiach transportu, ponieważ nie tłumaczyła swoich odpowiedzi. Niestety, to się wyróżnia, ponieważ 99% ludzi w Chinach pomaga! Poszedłem do innej kawiarni na końcu ulicy, gdzie ludzie od razu okazali się bardzo pomocni.

I stayed here for 2 nights and had an amazing experience. The room provides a great view of the mountains with floor to ceiling windows and everything in the room, including the bed, chairs, clothes rack and bathroom, are well-maintained and clean. The room provides a sense of luxury and cleanliness during your getaway to this village. The location is excellent, as you are one of the first, if not the first accommodation facing the mountains, so the view is excellent. It is in a great location for exploring upper yubeng and the glacier lake. What made our stay unforgettable was the amazing service we received by the owner and staff whilst we stayed here. The lady provided us with everything we needed to know during our stay in yubeng, including sunrise times, and answered any and every question we had about yubeng as a whole. They provided an atmosphere that was very welcoming and it really does feel like I was invited to stay at their home. They provided free water and free laundry service, as well as free use of hiking poles for our hikes. The breakfast included was excellent and was different for each day we stayed, and they provide you with a free lunch pack to take on your hike, which was a nice gesture which we appreciated. Additionally, everyone here speaks both mandarin and cantonese, so if you're travelling from Guangdong or Hong Kong and would like to feel at home, this is the perfect place to be. Overall, this was an amazing accommodation to stay at due to the amazing service, location and facilities and the owner and her family really do treat you like family. I would highly recommend staying here, and if I ever come back to yubeng, I will definitely stay here again!
